Right now I am an infantryman and in the process of crossing over. What are some things I can do to prepare myself for indoc/school house?

BLUF: It's $19, I'm vouching for it (I make nothing off it). It's not some gimmicky CF BS, if you stick to this guide and hammer it out every day you will see yourself getting much better in the areas of work capacity, strength and endurance.
You can search for just about any question you would want there. It's a site specifically for TACP/ROMAD/ALO/ETC. To check out their forums hit the communications tab, I had trouble finding it my first time there. MOST if not all your questions will be on there but, tread carefully.
You will need to pass this test first day of your indoc (for cross-trainees)
PAST Test
10:47 1.5 mile run
6 Pull-ups
48 Crunches in 1 minute
40 Push Ups in 1 minute
This was written by one of our cadre here, it helped me to get an insight onto what goes on daily.
From what I hear, ruck. Ruck a lot. You will do
25lb plate
4 mile instructor lead
4 mile individual PC
35lb plate
6 mile instructor lead
6 mile PC
8 mile instructor lead
45lb
4 mile instructor lead
6 mile instructor lead
6 mile PC
8 mile instructor lead
8 mile PC
Also included:
• Some Combat Water Survival and Water Confidence
• Day and Night land navigation tests, both individual and team-led
• A grueling obstacle course
• A 12 mile individual ruck march in 3 hours and 15 minutes or less
PT events in the schoolhouse are
As of 17 April, 2008, the order of exercises is as follows:
1. Squats
2. Lunges
3. Pushups
4. Leg Lifts
5. Plank
6. Diamond Pushups
7. Flutterkicks followed by Leg Spreaders
8. Arm Rotations
9. Left and Right Plank
10. Bicycle Crunch
11. Wide-arm Pushups
12. Situps
13. Combat Run
14. Pull Up followed by the Dip
(These could have changed).
They line you up near your 'Grave' (a student dirt pit you dig for PT) and count off the order of exercises correctly or they reward you with more PT.
The Cadre find different ways to haze you for every flight that goes through. They'll find something that sucks, so you won't be able to prepare fully for everything. Having your head screwed on is far more important.
Good luck.

This should be a sticky in the Help thread. Maybe clean it up a little, but a FAQ would be excellent.

Permalink Reply by Harrison Lee on May 28, 2012 at 3:31pm You're very welcome. I'll be in the schoolhouse around December, might see each other there depending. Anyways, just about anything you are looking for can be found on www.romad.com by just searching around. Have a good one man.
