SERE is looking for people, I really wouldn't worry about it, one EPR doesn't make an individual...keep your head up and keep pushing for the retrain. If the question is asked about the current report, just be truthful...every different supervisor has different opinions on what a 5 troop should be, a change in supervision can change a rating up or down a point. As long as there was nothing derogatory in the report, I believe you will be GTG. Good Luck.
Permalink Reply by dericke romo on January 4, 2011 at 3:11am Ya i was hoping it wouldnt affect anything. there was nothing derogatory at all on my EPR. i have never had paperwork or anything either. My current supervisor just doesnt like me, and plus he is a new SSgt as well. I just want to be given the opportunity to prove myself that i can be a SERE instructor and dont want nothing this small be the deciding factor. thanks for your comment brian.
Permalink Reply by dericke romo on January 4, 2011 at 4:13am appreciate the comment JD. that makes me feel better about my situation. ya i was hoping he would put all the disputes we had behind him to, but that didnt work. im just glad that wont affect my package or anything along those lines. good luck on your package as well JD. hope it goes well for you and you get it.
Let me tell you first off that EPR's are rated properly anyway. A 4 is what most people should get. I have a couple of 4's. Mostly due to my own faults. I was approved a few years ago for a cross train with a 3. I was a bit of a knuckle head in my younger years. Brian can attest to this, a 4 four EPR troop is sometimes better than a 5. I recieved a 4 once because my supervisor didn't know me. That didn't reflect who I was, it reflected what my supervisor thought. A 4 won't stop you from getting promoted, hired, approved or anything. If you had a 2 that might be a different story haha. Good luck and don't worry about a 4.
