This message was sent out by AF BMT (Air Force basic military training) on 7 June 2012:
"In a continuing effort to ensure our Battlefield Airmen (BA) candidates are as prepared as possible for their training, we just learned that beginning next week, BMT will be PAST testing all incoming BA candidates during their first week at BMT. Initially this will be a data collection test to see how prepared they truly are, but we can anticipate this likely will quickly transition into a make or brake test that could impact an incoming Airman's opportunity to serve. This is a major change and puts more pressure to ensure recruits are continuously training and preparing right up until the day they depart for BMT! Please start notifying all BA applicants of this new requirement."

Permalink Reply by Harrison Lee on June 7, 2012 at 7:07pm I'm actually a big fan of this. With the PASS/FAIL PAST before the schoolhouse straight from basic I'm glad there is an extra opportunity there to not lose anything between basic and the start of tech. Is there any confirmation on segregation (for lack of a better word) of BAs from the rest of the basic group for PT?
BA's are in their own BMT class. They get to PT a little, (key word) a little more then the rest of the regular classes. I was told that TACP did not have an extra body for the PAST and they will not be participating in the giving the PAST at BMT....... maybe later???
