Hello all, my name is Lee. I've been following the site for a couple weeks and decided to sign up for a bit more involvement. I take on USMC PLC my freshman year (I'm 18, looking at commissioning after college) in ~11 months. I plan on contracting Marine Aviation and after (2?) years they pull you out of the cockpit and you choose to be a recruiter or forward air controller (I prefer FAC).
I've been on a workout routine for 16 weeks that was great for what it needed to do. I got in amazing shape compared to what I used to be capable of. I completed it and was going to recycle it but just got bored with it (after 16 weeks of the same pushup routine). I was looking at CrossFit/SR/etc type workouts and was led to this site.
I've been following the ETG (Phase II starts today) and am already noticing improvements (part mental because I am not bored and part physical because my body has no idea what a kettlebell swing is, which may I remind you sucks when all you have is a hitch to a truck!). Three days ago I set my new chinup (USMC PFT standard) record (23), and two days ago swam 4x as many laps in the pool as I ever have been able to (swam 1000m without too much difficulty, farthest I've ever swam was 400 in a triathlon and it killed me), so I'm definitely going to stick with this and am loving the intensity.
Thanks guys/gals.
