Don't panic in the water, remember they aren't going to let you die, and you can hold your breath a LOT longer than you think. Focus on something else just to get through things when it gets tough like a 'happy place". I know thats lame but for me its driving...or riding on my boat on the lake. Just imagine your there and push through. please keep us updated on how indoc's going, I go 23 march of 2010 for bmt then indoc's in june for me. Goodluck, stay strong and never give up!

Try to keep your ruck organized. Set up a system. When you have a few minutes and know you are going to the pool, move things around so your pool gear is ready. When you are on the bus and know you are going to need your field uniforms next, shuffle things around so you have to do minimal unpacking and repacking when it comes time to change. This will save you time and heartache.
Awesome man, good luck! Stay confident- remember, "challenge is my greatest ally"!
You will see Security Forces Trainees doing their stupid Jodies and yelling HUA!!! like a bunch of retarded-queers when your rucking past them. If you wash out of PJ you will be a cop. Trust me. I know. That should be motivation enough to do anything possible to get through. Tell Mr. Moroney I said he is a beast. haha. Good luck and keep us updated.
NEVER call super human Newman old.. no matter how funny it may seem at the time ;) how is it going so far? Im currently in Afghanistan as one of the million cops that washed or claim to have gotten hurt. Fortunately I at least get to talk to a few really cool PJs that work near us. haha living the dream.. so don't ever let the mental game beat you, its only a temporary world of suck..
i agree with trenton...newman may be old but he still smokes alot of the young stud that show up there. i wouldn't worry about getting a whole lot of sleep because you're not going to get much. just use the cops as motivation, and an example of what you don't want to be. if you do get washed out, try like hell to get into TACP (thats what i did). but yeah, it's probably gonna be pretty atrocious so you just have to suck it up. try to eat right and take care of your body, do your best to prevent shin splints and things of that nature because that stuff will eventually break you down. good luck.
how did you end up in tacp, when so many end up as a cop?
What was the reason you washed out if you don't mind me asking?? I am just looking to get better not criticize.
i wasn't good enough in the pool. there is no such thing as too much preparation with water con/drown proofing etc etc
Besides the pool and the smoke sessions and the long distance running, what else is hellacious(if your allowed to say)?
I was lucky, MSgt Thompson liked me so he reccomended to Maj. C that i re train into TACP with the option of coming back to the pj schoolhouse later. There are TACP recruiters right there on medina so you have to go talk to them, although i heard they're taking even less pj/cct washouts now than they were before, which doesn't make any sense, so best of luck with that. you'll just have to do the tacp past test at medina but we all know how much of a joke past tests are.
Oh I have no intention of washing out of INDOC. But, God forbid that happens, I'd obviously want TACP. I heard it was hard to retrain TACP, but I agree that doesn't make much sense to me either.
