Fatal Fitness

I've been in contact with the TACP functional Manager for USAFE at Ramstein AB. He mentioned that if a person can pass the USAF PT test then we are good to go in terms of being fit enough to get in.

While that may be true for getting you in the door, I don't see the PT test being adequate training for the pipeline.

I am interested in the thoughts from some "been there, done that" people if there are any on these boards. I worked out with the TACPs when I was TDY to Hurlburt for intel training and I was busting my ass to keep up with them and I am in no danger of failing my PT test.

Thoughts? Comments?

GET THEE TO THE ARMORY....Try there TACP workout they have here...

Good tip. I just purchased the PDF file and it looks intense for sure! Definitely excited to hurt and sweat blood. I definitely like that is designed to be scalable to your current fitness level. It definitely looks like a program that is not going to be beaten without making you hurt first.

Thanks again for the heads up! That was good looking out.

where do u go to get the pdf for it?
What the Chief is saying in so many words is that the school house is more about your heart than your physical prowess.  PT demons failed out of my class while skinny nerds made it through first try.  Don't be a fat ass, be able to pass the TACP PAST and you'll be fine... if you can tough out the gut check you're about to go through.

Like I said on my OSI vs SERE post, I just graduated the TACP techschool last week. I would recommend just making sure your are comfortable with your calisthenics. You should look up the order of excercises and be able to do 20-40 by the 4 count of all of them. Like was said before, when you get there, they are not looking to see who is the strongest guy, but who is going to keep pushing and not quit.

What intel career field are you in now?

Thanks for the input fellas. I am pretty confident in being able to dig down, suffer and keep pushing on. I have finished a 150 mile trail race in the past and currently training for the Italy 200 mile mountain race. I know running is only one facet of pt but in my opinion, it's a step in the right direction.

I am currently a 1n4 Network Intelligence Analyst assigned to the 603d AOC as an Information Operations planner, integrating within the ATO cycle for kinetic and non kinetic effects.

I also wanted to add that it's not that the OEX is hard, its that someone is going to mess up almost everytime you do it. Everyone has a bad day. You just have to learn to hold that perfect form the entire time or someone is going to call you out. Now 20 just became 50 or 1 minute of front leaning rest becomes 5 minutes, while getting yelled at for someone moving at attention. Trust me, it will happen.
Ahh smoke sessions..... How i miss those days!
Since there are recent graduates of the school house, could you post up the most recent order of excersises?  I've seesn older posts but I just want to make sure I have the most recent info.
Make sure you're good on rucking. A few of the TACP guys at my base are friends of mine and they said that rucking is a big factor but one that they didn't know about going in.
