Preparing for the TACP pipeline

I've been in contact with the TACP functional Manager for USAFE at Ramstein AB. He mentioned that if a person can pass the USAF PT test then we are good to go in terms of being fit enough to get in.

 

While that may be true for getting you in the door, I don't see the PT test being adequate training for the pipeline.

 

I am interested in the thoughts from some "been there, done that" people if there are any on these boards. I worked out with the TACPs when I was TDY to Hurlburt for intel training and I was busting my ass to keep up with them and I am in no danger of failing my PT test.

Hey whats up,

 

I'm a Medic over here at Ramstein and I was trying to get some info on what you had to do inorder to get set up for your crosstrain into the TACP carrer field. I think I've possibly been to every TACP website that there is and there is no question about me being able make it through the tech school or perform the job. The only problem that i'm facing is that my DEROS is this August and AFPC won't let me submit a retrain application since I already have a assignment over to Kadena. I submitted a DEROS extension so that I could loose my assignment but thats no guarentee. Could you possibly hook me up with the TACP functional's number or email. Any info you have will be greatly appreciated!!

The TACP functional here at Ramstein is CMSgt Bender, Michael. His email is Michael.bender@ramstein.af.mil and his DSN is 480-5027 or 478-1088. Another good place to ask questions is the Career Advisor at MPF. Her name escapes me at the moment but she is very knowledgeable and very helpful.

I was finally given the go to cross train out of my current career field. The thing that sucks is I can't cross to TACP or CCT! My only damn option is flight attendant... what kinda crap is that!

Dang that is pretty harsh! What was their justification for not allowing you into TACP or CCT?

I I put on tech. I can still apply with a waiver but it's not looking so good.

Hey guys.  Im in the air force DEP right now and i want to go TACP.  I already passed the PAST test but was disqualified because i failed the optic 2300 depth perception test at meps.  Since then i have had my eyes retested at the Georgia eye institute and they say everything is fine.  My recruiter has sent my paperwork back to the jacksonville meps but they said i can't retest.  I was wondering if anyone had any advice.  I am thinking about selecting a job so i can get a date to go to basic and either get selected for TACP or try out there.  If i did that, would i have a chance to retest my vision at that point?
