Fatal Fitness

Hi everyone. I am currenty in the military and have been on this site for about a month. I take some of the exercises off of here or I use variations to fit me. ( Most of the time I am at home when I am working out) I have no problem doing the workout however, after any intense workout I am sore for long periods of time. Most importantly I come home from work and just pass out. My wife gets a little ticked when shes been with the baby all day and i just come home and crash. This happens whenever I do a moderate to intense workout. Can anyone give me any guidence on what to do to prevent soreness from falling asleep instantly once I take a seat. It may sound dumb, but this is my only problem with working out.

What are your eating/hydration habits like? As in, how much do you eat, more specifically, what do you eat? How much do you normally sleep at night?

I normally skip breakfast due to the lack of funds eat out for lunch whether subway, wendy's whatever is available, and my wife cooks me whatever I want for Dinner. Avg night sleep ranges between 3-5 hours due to household chores and getting whatever it is I may need for the next work day.

the sleep is an issue too- you might have to take a hard look at how to adjust your schedule or use your time more efficiently to get more sleep. don't misunderstand me, I'm not saying you are inefficient or that you are not just super busy. I'm just saying, sleep is an important factor, and with skipping breakfast as well, it's easy to see why you're sore and exhausted all the time.

You can eat breakfast for about $3 a week. Oatmeal is about as cheap as it comes brother. I usually eat 2 scrambled eggs with a dash of milk and some shredded cheese. The eggs go for about $1.90, 3 bucks for a 1/2 gallon of milk and 1lb of cheese for about 4 bucks. So that's 9 dollars to eat healthy breakfasts for 2 weeks.
As far as your diet is concerned I would suggest baking some chicken and making a salad and fruit cup for lunch. I can tell you without a doubt that once you straighten out your diet you will feel better. Cut your portions down a bit, and try to save a little for a snack a few hours later. I eat 6 to 8 times a day, but small portions. I'm not talking a 6inch sub either. Like 1/2 of a sandwich, or a granola bar and one of those fruit cocktail can's.

I just got back from a 2 week TDY. And because of the situation I was in I had to eat off base every day, usually 3x a day. After a week I felt like shit. After 2 weeks I felt terrible, couldn't sleep enough, my workout's sucked etc etc. Once I got home and got back on my normal diet I felt awesome in about 2 days. As far as sleep is concerned, I get about the same. Kid's have a tendency to run your life more than you think.

What to take away from this? Eat breakfast, and stop eating out for lunch. The money you save from eating out will pay for the breakfast easily.
