Fatal Fitness

Hey everyone! I just ran across this site today! I'm very excited about seeing so many who are so dedicated to fitness and training! I'm awaiting my MEPS date, as I had to have a waiver signed due to my numerous speeding tickets a few years back. I'm wanting a TACP contract and am hoping to leave in September.

Right now my PFT pretty much sucks.
1-1/2 mile=9:45
65pushups-little over a minute
75situps-same
5pullups

I know, its awful. But, I'm determined to ace the PAST test before I leave for basic.

God Bless,

James

Thanks man! My problem more than anything is distance. I'm exhausted after a mile and a half. I'm actually going on a 2 mile run right now, I'm hoping to add 1/2 every week before basic. I'm also doing 50pullups for the next 10 days and resting 3days then doing it all over again. I figure if I'm going TACP, I want my choice of assignments, and word is Honor Grads tend to get to pick theirs(I know theres more than just fitness when it comes to being honor grad. This is just 1 more step I won't have to worry about).

I'm actually not far from warner robbins, how long till you think you'll be able to x-train into TACP?

Not sure when I leave for basic yet, I'd like Sept. 22nd. But we'll see. A TACP from military.com told me about the Honor Grad stuff.

I've also heard through word of mouth that you've gotta be able to run 3miles under 20minutes? I ended up running 3 miles today right at 24 minutes, it absolutely exhausted me! I know I've got time but I feel like I'm ridiculously out of shape for the kind of training I'll be enduring. Thankfully thats what keeping me motivated and pushing me forward.

I've never quit anything in my life, so as far as that goes, the only way I'm failing is if I'm physically removed by my instructors.

My goals are to achieve WARHAWK before I leave for basic, be able to run 3 miles under 20minutes, and run 10miles striaght without dying. I'm also purchasing an alice pack with an A-Frame and will be rucking once a week to get practice in. I'll be adding weight as I go until I get to 80lbs. I'm shooting for 4miles in 1 hour(not sure what I can do currently).

Between the workouts on here, running around the lake 3 times a week(adding distance as time progresses) swimming and biking on days not running, PT'ing daily, Rucking once or twice a week, I know I'll make it. I want my focus to be on those damn radio's when I get there, not to have to worry about whether I'll pass fitness tests or not.

You will run plenty in basic. You will probably get put into an A group (the fast runners) so that will help you amp up your speed and endurance.
