Form here is better than the weighted one, but I didn't know I was supposed to drop under the bar back into the squat position.

Harrison I find it easier to have a little weight on the bar so it doesn't feel so awkward. It may or may not help you but worth a shot.
Gotta point those elbows up and in. Dean's right that you've got to drop under the bar- when you front squat, in order for the bar to sit properly on the "rack" of your chest, you need to point the elbows up and in. Do it the same for this. And you don't need to drop into a full squat position, though that's what you'd do for a squat clean, and that's what competetive guys do for very heavy cleans that they can't quite get up as high.
